Umpire Rules

Below are the various rules that we use when umpiring Baseball in Nova Scotia.

We use the past year's MLB Rules, this is allows us a year to see how new rules play out before using them in NS. We also use Baseball Canada's Rules Interpretations for various rules to assist umpires in interpretting specific situations. The Canadian Content gives us a guide related to Level specific information like game length, pitch counts, bat types and other age level specific information.

Umpire Positioning Manuals

Umpires are required to ensure that they are in the best place at any time on the field to make calls. The below manuals are invaluable to Umpires as they outline very specific in-game situations and how Umpires rotate around the field to ensure they have the distance and angle for all situations.
